Weekly Art + Design Studios

Check out our collection of unique weekly classes for kids ages 3-14!


For each age group, our instructors will work with students on exploring a variety of mediums, tools and techniques.  During the summer, some classes might be a one-time class while others will work in a series. These classes are offered in three-month semester form during the Fall and Spring.

Explore: Ages 3-5

Wednesdays 1:15 - 2:15pm

$160 – full semester, $60 per month

Explorers are given a wide range of art media and topics to delve into.  Students will be introduced to various media and methods all with underlying goal of sparking imagination, creativity, and learning through theme explorations like transportation, family, portraiture, underwater, fantasy worlds, nature, and animals, masks and much more.  

Engage: Ages 8-10

$190 – full semester, $75 per month

Between ages 8 and 10 students begin to engage in a more a specialized way, choosing topics and media that they find most satisfying.  Students will dig deeper into the principles of art and elements of design and focus in on developing strong skills in all mediums (possibly including comics, photography, printmaking, bookmaking, etc) but especially various drawing, painting and sculpture techniques.

Discover: Ages 5-7

Discovery Students continue to play with materials and work in a more thematic structure as we introduce the elements of art.  Students will learn about past and present artists from all around the world while honing their mark making, value and 3D drawing, still life studies, color play, paper manipulation, book making, and sculpting skills.

Develop: Ages 11-14

Mondays, 6:30-8:00pm

$220 – full semester, $85 per month

In these classes, students really start to develop their individual styles and aesthetic.  We continue to teach students more complex techniques in various media including drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, illustration, architecture, film, clay, and photography.  We will discuss abstract concepts, ideas of composition and explore self-expression, all the while infusing an atmosphere of play and innovation.

Join our founding director, Ginger Huebner, for her unique workshop offerings.

Ginger offers incredible experiences using her own mediums of chalk pastel and collage to people of all ages. Whatever the outcome, the priority is on the process: exploring, engaging, connecting with one another and with our truest selves.

As the holidays approach, Ginger has a new series of workshops offering a unique means of creating with your family. Your collaborative family portrait sessions will mark this current chapter of your family timeline and allow each of you to create, connect and celebrate each other with an unforgettable visual image.

There are only a few time slots that Ginger is offering these custom portrait sessions before the winter holidays. *Note that some dates are for Group Family Sessions.

Ginger’s Reflections of Life Commissions

The cycle of life is full of beauty, love, and loss - with celebrations, new chapters, births and deaths. The passing of souls brings heavy hearts and often a seeking for closure and reflection. Through either a solo or collaborative commission, Ginger offers the opportunity to specifically focus on a reflection of life for a person or animal who has passed.

Monthly Making Labs


Ages 12-18 / 7-9:00pm
$10 per person

Come with your fellow siblings, friends or just by yourself to spend time creating. Every first Friday we will be making something different. Each night will end with a specific thing you can make and take home or you can experiment and explore with the materials.  
We provide all the materials. And, again – have we mentioned that there is NO experience required!
Please arrive no later than 7:30, Making Lab will be cancelled if there are no attendees by 7:30.

Third Saturdays, drop in anytime between 10-12pm
$5 per participating family member ($30 maximum)

Come with your family (grown up, adult, caregiver, siblings) and spend time creating and being challenged! Every third Saturday of the month there will be a new challenge. When you arrive your family will be given a box filled with supplies for you to use to complete the challenge collaboratively. 
No experience required!

Every time you start over you have a chance at a new understanding of yourself.  Being a ‘Perpetual Beginner’ is about seeing the world in different ways and discovering an endless array of paths and possibilities.  Join us for our ever changing unique experiences as a series or drop in for the sessions that pique your curiosity. Portfolio Development Intensives


Working on a college portfolio or would you just like to hone skills in a specific medium in preparation for a portfolio next year?  Join us for our one-on-one intensives.  Meet twice a week for 1 hour for 4 weeks with one of our talented instructors.  Arranged as possible with our available instructors and the students schedule. Weeks do not need to be consecutive.  We also offer hourly consultations for designing and reviewing portfolios for student's applications.

Intensives $550 includes all materials / Consulting $60 per hour 

Custom Workshops

Custom workshops FOR all ages

Custom workshops are open to any age and any group number. Our artists have experience with young children, middle and high school students, and adults of all ages. These experiences are a great way for middle and high school students to continue to develop their artistic skills outside of school.  They are also wonderful experiences for families working through transitions or looking for a unique experience they can share with one another.  For pricing, you may choose between a number of options:

Individual Session
We recommend starting with 4 hours in sessions scheduled however desired (within limits).  We provide the materials, studio space and teaching artist. Some outside work may be assigned as well. Session accommodates one person.
$65 / hour - 4 hours recommended at beginning

Small Friend Session
Bring your BFFs to create together with you! We will provide materials, studio space and teaching artist. Session accommodates up to three people.
$85 / hour - at least 2 hours recommended

Large Friend or Family Session
Join us with your whole family! We will have materials, studio space and a visual artist collaborator provided.  Session accommodates up to eight people.
$100 / hour- at least 2 hours recommended

Homeschool Groups

We welcome homeschool students as individuals or groups in our above mentioned Weekly Classes. However, if these sessions do not work for your schedule, we can create sessions specifically for your home school group.

Customized sessions are available for grades K through 12 with a variety of artistic medium choices: drawing, painting, clay, collage, mixed media, sculpture, printmaking, mosaic. We can work with you for a few hours or an entire semester!  Fees are determined by student number, art medium, and length of session.

Drop off your child on Sunday mornings to join Miss Emma as she guides them in a playful yoga practice at Roots + Wings School of Art and Design. This playful practice helps children increase mind and body awareness, strength, flexibility, focus and creativity.
