ACE Resilience Art Show
Roots + Wings is participating in the Resilience Art Show, a city-wide arts exhibition reflecting on resilience. This city-wide arts exhibition features the work of local children and artists from around the nation, and coincides with the 2017 Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Southeastern Summit in Asheville on October 19-21. The included works, installed at various businesses and community centers in Asheville, are reflections on resilience - the learnable quality of persons, families and communities that blunts the lasting effects of childhood trauma. Below is a map of locations in Asheville where you can find works hosted from October 1-31.

pAST COMMUNITY CELEBRATIONS!
We had a super fun two days of Community letter writing (and making)
Scientific findings link gratitude to increased optimism, stress reduction and a better night’s sleep. Writing a note by hand has cognitive benefits, as well. As the age of email, texting and tweeting has taken over, many have proclaimed that the art of writing letters is about to disappear forever. We gathered together (families and individuals) and focused on slowing down, being grateful and using our unique individuality to craft pieces of art to share with loved ones and friends afar!
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our one year anniversary at our Roots + Wings Creative Campus building. We had an amazing day of hands on making!
Do you have a community class or event you might like to hold here at the Roots + Wings Creative Campus? Give us a shout below and we can chat all about it!
