Our Visual Arts Preschool is a school year program that fosters creativity and promotes early development in problem solving, critical thinking, cognitive concepts, social interaction and increased physical health through art-making and the exploration of the world’s many forms of visual art. Students are encouraged to view art as a means of self-expression and a tool for learning.

Our program provides a safe environment, with a low teacher-to-student ratio that nurtures healthy relationship-building between your child, their teachers and their peers. We welcome children of all abilities, ages 3-6. The Visual Arts Preschool builds a strong foundation of core skills that will prepare them for their Kindergarten curriculum.

While our official preschool day is 4 hours, we have extended day options with other community organizations that allow students to remain our R+W Creative Campus until 5:30pm daily if needed!

Our Philosophy

Our teaching and learning methodology combines the following elements: Compassion, Respect, Learning through Experience, Choice, Collaboration, Journey-based Instruction, Community Involvement, and Non-violent Communication.

5 days - Monday -  Friday

3 Classrooms with a max of 12 students each day Classroom 1   8:30am - 12:30pm
Classroom 2   8:45am - 12:45pm

TUITION SCHEDULE

2 days per week: $245 / month
3 days per week: $335 / month
5 days per week: $485 / month

Family Discounts:
First child, full tuition. 10% reduction of monthly tuition for siblings (excludes materials fee)

Additional Fees:
One time $65 Registration Fee per child
(Due with initial application, also holds space on our waitlist)

$250 Yearly Materials Fee per child

Policies and Procedures

PAYMENTS Upon acceptance, the $65 registration fee is due to hold the student's place.  This registration fee is a one-time fee for all new students.  Tuition is due by the first of each month.  Late fees will begin to be applied after the 3rd day of the month.  The first tuition payment is due August 1st for any new school year.  The 2016-17 school year will start on September 6th (just following Labor Day) and run through June 2, 2017.  Payments may be made using cash, check, or credit card via our online system.  All credit card payments will include an additional 3+% cost for fees associated with using these services. Payments in full for the entire school will receive a 5% discount if made by July 1, 2016.

Please note: the Registration Fee is non-refundable.

ROLLING ADMISSION
We offer rolling admission throughout the year. If you are interested in this current school year or next, please contact us to see if there is room and/or to put your child on our waiting list for the following year.  We typically solidify next years enrollment by March 1st of the current year.

DROP OFF + PICK UP (and LATE PICKUP FEES)
Drop off and pick up times are staggered for each of our classrooms. 8:30am-12:30pm, 8:45am-12:45pm, and 9:00am-1:00pm.  This helps to ensure the utmost safety in our parking lot and to allow enough space for parking.  Our Drop off times of 8:30am, 8:45am and 9:00am reflect the times that the doors will be open for your family to enter.   Our Pick up time policies are similar to that of the drop off.  We want our students to be able to focus with us through the end of our day, so doors will be locked until just before pick up time.  If you are later than 12:30pm, 12:45pm or 1:00pm (depending on your child's classroom time) - and unless efforts have been made to communicate a specific problem in arriving on time - we will be forced to charge a $10 per 10-minute fee for late pickup penalty.

WITHDRAWAL + REFUND POLICY
One month’s notice is required to withdraw your child from our program without payment penalty. If one month prior is not possible, a full or partial tuition refund may be given if extenuating circumstances require your child to be withdrawn from our program. All refund requests will be considered on an individual basis. The registration and materials fees are non-refundable.

SNOW & INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
We will loosely follow the Asheville City Schools Snow / Inclement Weather decisions. However, all individuals and families enrolled in any of our programs will receive a personal call and email if any of our programs are canceled due to weather.

If you have further questions, you may call us at 828.545.4827. Typically classes that are missed due to inclement weather cannot be made up, but we may make exceptions under special circumstances.
